GPC Asia Pacific is one of the largest aftermarket automotive parts supplier in New Zealand and Australia and includes brands such as Repco, APPCO Auto Parts, ASL and ADL Auto Parts. They have been delivering quality and reliable services to retail and trade customers for almost 100 years.
GPC Asia Pacific is introducing a new name to New Zealand and Australia’s automotive market, NAPA Auto Parts, which is trade-focused automotive parts business.
New Zealand’s first-ever NAPA Auto Parts store would be in New Plymouth with more stores to open later in the year. GPC Asia Pacific needed a partner with the geographic reach and expertise to implement the new branding.
Having a relationship of over ten years, along with the ability to provide both painting and signage solutions, Programmed Property Services (Programmed) was GPC Asia Pacific’s first choice.
Our extensive knowledge in corporate signage and branding enabled us to take the initial brand guidelines and further develop the brand application elements to include specifications such as colour matching, vinyl and substrate types. The ability to accommodate late changes as the brand developed was greatly appreciated and led to an increased scope of works.
Colour montages of the various options of brand application to the site provided visuals for easy review and decision making. Additionally, we were able to develop standardised pricing for various brand elements so GPC Asia Pacific could better predict and budget costs.
As we had previously conducted works to the building, we had an intimate understanding of the site. Re-utilising the existing brand materials, we were able to pass on additional cost savings.
Although COVID-19 postponed works, it was the inclement weather after lockdown that proved to be a challenge. There was also tricky access which we tackled using a combination of scaffold and elevated work platforms. Through ensuring the appropriate resources, from personnel to access equipment, Programmed safely completed rebranding works in time for the launch.
By having one point of contact effectively coordinate painting and signage trades, Programmed was able to reduce downtime and help GPC Asia Pacific achieve the best brand outcome. The once dated building is now looking full of life. As the brand grows across New Zealand, Programmed is delighted to be supporting them.We have since completed a full repaint along with external and internal branding application to three NAPA Auto Parts stores. Another two sites are in progress.
