DELIVERING EXCEPTIONAL SENIOR CANDIDATES FOR A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENT

Programmed was approached by a federal government department and asked to recruit 16 APS5 content authors for an agricultural project. The candidates needed to come from various backgrounds, as the key attribute sought was conceptual thinking skills.

To meet the department’s firm deadline, we nominated a dedicated consultant from our team to manage the recruitment process. Our consultant managed the advertising process in coordination with the department to ensure all government approvals were met. We received a total of 108 applications, which we then shortlisted to 36.

The shortlisted candidates were invited to an assessment centre where they were taken through a testing programme. 27 applicants were successful in passing the assessment centre, so our consultant then coordinated interviews with each applicant and departmental staff.

This recruitment project was highly successful as we filled all 16 roles under the tight deadlines given by the department.
