Behind every job well done in the field is a vehicle that’s fit for purpose, reliable, and ready to go. With this in mind, Programmed’s Fleet team has been undertaking a major review of our 2,500-vehicle fleet across Australia and New Zealand, focusing on quality, consistency, and supporting our people on the ground.
The objective is simple, but important – streamline the number of vehicle choices and builds, while continuing to offer high-quality, fleet-approved vehicles that meet the operational needs of our field workforce and improve new vehicle delivery lead times.
A recent milestone in this journey took place in Karratha, where the Fleet team was on hand to accept the delivery of three brand new Toyota HiLux vehicles. Each vehicle has been fitted with a high-quality, centrally locked service body designed to support safe, efficient work in the field.
The vehicles also include practical upgrades, including a 5G mobile phone signal booster to support connectivity in remote locations, and a 1000-watt inverter to power essential equipment on site.
“Creating an approved Fleet catalogue of approved vehicles simplifies our whole business operation – a good reason to Work and Smile!”
Steve Ellis, Project Manager – Fleet.

The new vehicles also feature First Nations branding, which was proudly added as part of the build. The branding represents an ongoing commitment to respect, inclusion, and recognising the communities in which Programmed operates.
While these vehicles represent an important step forward, they are part of a broader, long-term program to continually improve fleet capability across Australia and New Zealand. By working closely with employees, suppliers, and partners, Programmed is investing in a fleet that better supports our people and the essential services we deliver every day.
