Melbourne Work Experience Week with Clontarf: Creating Pathways for Future Careers

Programmed Property Services was proud to support the 2026 Melbourne Work Experience Week in partnership with the Clontarf Foundation, welcoming three talented students for an immersive experience across our business.

As part of our commitment to supporting future talent and strengthening community connections, Programmed welcomed Malakai, Jhye and Ryan to spend several days with our team, gaining firsthand exposure to a range of industries, career pathways and workplace environments.

Supporting Career Development Through Real-World Experience

The Clontarf Foundation's Work Experience Week is designed to provide senior Victorian Clontarf Academy students with valuable career and life experiences that may not otherwise be available in their local communities. By connecting students with leading organisations, the program helps broaden career horizons, build confidence and inspire future employment opportunities.

The week commenced with an opening breakfast on Melbourne's iconic Yarra River, bringing together students and corporate partners to network, build relationships and celebrate the opportunities ahead.

Behind the Scenes with Programmed Property Services at the MCG

One of the highlights of the week was a day spent with our Property Services Commercial Painting team at the world-famous Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

Following an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the stadium, the students were introduced to the commercial painting industry and experienced a range of practical painting-related activities. The visit provided valuable insight into the diverse career opportunities available within property services and the skilled trades sector.

Through hands-on learning and conversations with experienced professionals, the students gained a deeper understanding of what a career in commercial painting can offer.

Exploring Technology and Innovation at ANZ Head Office

The following day, the students visited ANZ's Head Office in Docklands, where they were hosted by Danny Pither, National Account Manager for Programmed Electrical Technologies.

During the visit, students toured the workplace and discovered the innovative audiovisual and electrical technology solutions delivered by the Programmed Electrical Technologies team. The experience highlighted the growing range of opportunities available within technology, infrastructure and electrical services.

The students also visited our Collins Street office, where they met team members from various business functions and gained exposure to the many career pathways available across Programmed, from operations and project management through to marketing, finance and corporate services.

Building Confidence Beyond the Classroom

To conclude the week, the students presented their key learnings, experiences and future aspirations to the Programmed team.

The presentation provided an opportunity to practice public speaking, reflect on their experiences and step outside their comfort zones. It was inspiring to hear their perspectives on the week and the impact the experience had on shaping their future goals.

Strengthening Our Partnership with the Clontarf Foundation

The Clontarf Foundation plays an important role in supporting young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men to remain engaged in education while developing the skills and confidence needed to pursue meaningful career pathways.

Programs like Work Experience Week create valuable opportunities for students to explore new industries, connect with professionals and gain practical insights into the world of work.

At Programmed Property Services, we are proud to support initiatives that help create brighter futures for young Australians and contribute to stronger, more inclusive communities.

Looking Ahead

We would like to thank everyone across Programmed who generously shared their time, knowledge and expertise throughout the week, helping create a memorable and meaningful experience for the students.

We look forward to continuing our partnership with the Clontarf Foundation and creating more opportunities to support the next generation of talent.
