Programmed Care helps veterans thrive!

Sep 10, 2019

Clinical Care Professionals (CCP), part of the Programmed Care business, have held a long term agreement with the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) to supply home care and community nursing services to Veterans across South Australia and Queensland.

These personal care and nursing supports are vital to the wellbeing of Veterans and enable them to remain living in their homes for longer.

Based on the great work CCP have done over the years, DVA recently reached out to see if we had the capacity to take on a number of extra clients who were in need of a new provider.

The team quickly set about the mammoth task of coordinating the transition of 140 clients across to CCP in South Australia, Queensland and even Victoria within a three week period. Julie Turbill, Sonya Congdon and team, including Daniel Turbill in Victoria did a fantastic job in managing the changeover in an efficient manner, whilst also maintaining a very high level of care and empathy towards all our new clients, many of whom were nervous about the change. We worked closely with clients, a mixture of men and women ranging from 70 to 100 years of age, to ensure a smooth transition in their care regimes to alleviate any reservations and stress they were feeling.

We have since received some glowing feedback from both the DVA and the clients themselves, including a formal letter of thanks sent from Damien Beard, Director of Contract Management and Capability for the DVA.

In his letter, Damien said the “DVA would particularly like to acknowledge the effort and commitment of your staff in this process. Without the impressive level of commitment displayed we would not have been able to achieve such a successful transition outcome for all affected clients.”

Referral sources, such as hospital discharge planners, GP’s etc. are also now seeking out Programmed Care directly to pass on additional referrals, a testament to the great work carried out by all involved. Well done team!
