Skilled for success: Adam Gilchrist joins the Programmed team

Feb 13, 2025

Having played 96 Tests and 287 One Day Internationals for Australia, few know more about success in the sporting arena than ‘Gilly’. But what about in the workplace?

On the cricket field, Adam Gilchrist has done it all.

Widely considered the greatest wicketkeeper in the history of the sport, the three-time World Cup winner-turned broadcaster has a list of achievements that goes as far as one of his trademark sixes.

Having played 96 Tests and 287 One Day Internationals for Australia, few know more about success in the sporting arena than ‘Gilly’.

But what about in the workplace?

Gilly joined the Programmed team to find out.

From donning high-vis to getting hands-on with workplace tasks, Gilly fully embraced being part of Team Programmed. He was interested to hear more about the team and their work – not just their technical skills, but what they enjoy about their job.

In the same way that Gilly found joy on the cricket field, we believe that fulfilment at work creates a positive environment, boosts productivity and ultimately drives success.
We call it ‘Work and Smile’, and it can be different for everyone.

For Matt, Lily, Josh and Arron, it’s creating a project and watching it being completed; it’s the people; it’s the challenge; it’s the teamwork; its helping people change their lives, and; it’s training people not just for a job, but for a career.

And, of course, it was welcoming Gilly to the team.

We think he enjoyed it too, saying: “The right team with the right skills to succeed – that looks like a pretty good day at work.”

For Me. For We. For Us. For All of Us.

For all the reasons we work.

Work and Smile.
