A Taste of the World Under the Stars: Foodie Feast Returns to Golden Grove

Jun 3, 2025

The Programmed Culinary Team proudly hosted the annual 29Metals Foodie Feast event at Golden Grove, transforming the village mine site into a vibrant celebration of global cuisine, community spirit, and connection.

Set outdoors beneath the stars, this two-day culinary experience brought residents together to enjoy international flavours, live entertainment, and a joyful, high-energy atmosphere. Fremantle acoustic duo Barefoot Brothers delivered a soulful performance, providing the perfect soundtrack for an unforgettable evening.

The food was a true standout, offering something for every palate. From Mediterranean favourites and Japanese specialties to classic American dishes and hearty Italian fare, the diverse menu showcased the talent and creativity of Programmed’s Culinary Team. Not to mention the dessert stall, which was a hit among residents with chocolate-covered churros, crepes, éclairs, jam donuts and ice cream which brought sweet smiles all around.

Feedback from the 29Metals team and village residents was overwhelmingly positive, with comments such as:
“Wow, this is fantastic.”
“Thank you for creating this event.”
“The food is incredible.”
“Awesome job!”

These remarks reflect not only the success of the event, but the genuine joy it brought to all who attended.

At Programmed, we do more than deliver services – we create environments where people feel welcomed, supported, and valued from the moment they arrive. From the airport greeting to the bus transfers and arrival at the village, our team is dedicated to ensuring a smooth, comfortable experience every step of the way. Once on site, we maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, comfort, and food quality to help FIFO workers feel at ease. We understand the challenges of being away from home, and through genuine care and attention to detail, we aim to make every stay more enjoyable, connected, and uplifting.

A special thank you to Amanda Pickering, Head of Culinary; Cheryl Prentice, Regional Manager of Resources and Energy; our Head Chefs; and the entire team for their exceptional effort and dedication. Your commitment to excellence and care for others truly made this event shine.

This was more than just a food event – it was a true Work and Smile moment, and a reminder of the power of community, culture, and shared experiences.
