Endless opportunities for a rewarding nursing career

Dec 7, 2018

Howard Tetley has been a registered nurse with Programmed Health Professionals since July 2005. Clocking up nearly 11,000 hours in his time with us, he’s exactly the kind of person we want on our team.

As a night duty critical care nurse, Howard works mostly in coronary and intensive care units across Melbourne and Geelong. For him the best thing about agency nursing is the flexibility of work it offers, and the time it gives him to spend outside of the hospital.

‘We all owe it to ourselves to be a bit of a free spirit,’ he says ‘and agency work provides the freedom I like’.

Throughout his more than 13 years working with Programmed Howard says ‘the staff have always been friendly and accommodating’, helping to make his working life easier.

The rest of our Programmed Health Professionals team are also glad to be able to call on Howard. Client relationship manager Kylee Smith says the loyalty he’s shown is remarkable, and that his dedication and reliability make him a great representative of our services.

After briefly considering becoming a mechanic in his youth, Howard’s pretty pleased with the direction his career has taken. He’s a big believer in the benefits of agency nursing, and the opportunities it provides for building a career with more diversity and flexibility.

‘The opportunities, variety and stimulation it has given me prompts me to recommend nursing as a career choice to anyone, and particularly agency nursing’.

‘The rewards to me have been numerous’, he says.

‘Join an agency. Free yourself’.
