Programmed hosted an exciting and impactful wellness challenge led by Brooke Rabe, our Wellness and Events Manager for WA. As part of Dry July, Brooke travelled across our regional offices to engage teams in the Plank for the Planet challenge, combining fitness with purpose.
At Programmed, we believe that wellness isn’t just a checkbox – it’s a culture. A way of working. A way of living. Through our human-centred wellbeing model nu.era, we’re embedding wellness into every corner of workplace life. From nutrition and movement, to connection, mindfulness and purpose, it’s about creating an environment where our people can truly thrive.

A Fitness Challenge with Purpose
The Plank for the Planet challenge encouraged teams to hold a plank for as long as possible. We partnered with Greening Australia, an organisation committed to restoring landscapes, enhancing biodiversity and combating climate change through large-scale environmental restoration.
Through this collaboration, we raised an impressive $2,284.82, directly supporting Greening Australia’s efforts to restore land and plant native trees in our local communities. The funds raised will help regenerate vital ecosystems and protect native wildlife for generations to come.
Celebrating Top Performers and Team Spirit
The challenge was met with incredible enthusiasm across WA, and we saw some outstanding performances. The top three record holders were:
- Gary Burden with a plank time of 10 minutes
- Michael Keane with 11 minutes
- George Reyneke with a whopping 12 minutes
A massive congratulations to these champions for pushing their limits and setting the bar high!
In addition to individual success, we also celebrated the team spirit that made this challenge so special. The Karratha and Housing Team emerged as the winning team, raising the most funds and showcasing their collective determination and support.

Looking Ahead
The success of Plank for the Planet has sparked something even greater within our teams. It’s not just about the minutes held or the funds raised – it’s about coming together as a community to make a difference. We look forward to more challenges that bring our teams together, foster wellness and continue to support the environment.
