Programmed Wins National Industrial Caterer of the Year at 2025 Hostplus Awards

Oct 29, 2025

Programmed has been named Australia’s Industrial Caterer of the Year at the 2025 Restaurant & Catering Hostplus National Awards for Excellence, held last night in Sydney, marking an extraordinary milestone for the team following consecutive wins at state level.

After being recognised as the 2024 WA Winner and National Runner-Up, Programmed’s Culinary Team has now claimed the 2025  top national honour, solidifying its reputation as one of Australia’s leading names in industrial catering.

Celebrating Culinary Excellence

The award follows Programmed’s back-to-back success at the WA Hostplus Awards for Excellence, where the team representing 29Metals’ Golden Grove Village was once again named 2025 WA Industrial Caterer of the Year before advancing to take out the national title.

John Pirie, Head of Facilities Management – WA & Resources, said the recognition reflects the talent, innovation and heart that define Programmed’s approach to food and hospitality in remote environments.

“This national win affirms our position as a serious force in the industrial catering space. In just a few years, our team has carved out a reputation for quality, creativity and genuine care, all while delivering exceptional dining experiences in challenging, remote conditions.”

The People Behind the Plate

Led by Culinary Community Manager Amanda Pickering and Executive Chef Waffe El Jazzar, the Programmed team has redefined what industrial catering can look like, blending nutrition, comfort and creativity through daily menus, themed events and seasonal activations that bring communities together.

“Winning the state award for the second year running, and now taking out the national title, is a tribute to our people. Their consistency, pride and passion are what set our offer apart – we’re not just cooking meals, we’re creating a community.”

Linda Hitchmough, General Manager – Resources

Partnerships and Gratitude
Programmed extends its gratitude to 29Metals for the ongoing partnership, to its supply partners for their collaboration, and most importantly, to the onsite Culinary Team for their professionalism and dedication.

This national recognition reinforces Programmed’s reputation as a leader in the resources, mining, and energy sectors, reflecting the company’s unwavering commitment to quality, innovation, and community across every site it serves.
