In October, Programmed held its Annual Safety Townhall at Burswood on Swan, uniting our valued vendor network for a day focused on safety and wellbeing. This event reinforces our commitment to ensuring that all vendors work safely and return home to their families, while contributing to safer communities and fostering personal and career growth.
The day began with a presentation by Mark Noble, General Manager – HSE, Sustainability and Resourcing on Programmed’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) performance and vision, followed by an expert panel discussion led by key industry voices. Brendan Sutton, Chairperson of the Working at Heights Association and Director of Altura, shared key safety trends and highlighted upcoming priorities for the industry. Lucas Parkinson, Director at HazEd, discussed the latest in safety education and innovative solutions, while Programmed’s General Manager, Noel Kelly, provided practical insights into incident management and safe work practices.
In addition to the panel discussion, an interactive mini-expo featured live demonstrations by leading safety suppliers. 3M showcased its cutting-edge working-at-heights equipment, emphasising the importance of using reliable gear. Gripps presented tool-tethering and dropped-object prevention systems, designed to keep tools secure and protect both workers and those below.
Through these discussions and hands-on exhibits, our vendor network gained valuable insights and practical knowledge, reinforcing safe practices and enhancing their skills to tackle daily challenges effectively.
