Programmed successfully acquires Urban Maintenance Services (UMS)

Nov 2, 2023

In an exciting growth move, Programmed has agreed to purchase the Australian arm of Urban Maintenance Systems (UMS).

Programmed successfully acquires Urban Maintenance Services (UMS)

Growing our community

Headquartered out of Melbourne this East Coast business has been providing services for the last thirty years to its predominantly Local Government and Social Infrastructure Clients. The acquisition is expected to close by the end of 2023, with some 300 staff joining Programmed.

The sale process for the Australian Business has been run in parallel with the sale of UMS’ New Zealand Assets, which were acquired by Recreational Services, a local open space provider based in Auckland.

Providing more to our customers

UMS is a well-respected provider of building maintenance, grounds maintenance services and graffiti management and provides asset and facility management to some of its customer base. The strategic rationale for the acquisition was a good alignment for both businesses and for the broader customer base and communities that UMS and Programmed operate within across Australia.

Customers and staff will now be able to enjoy greater access to services and career opportunities, and the news has been well received by UMS staff and customers, alike.

Exciting times ahead

We are excited about bringing this future growth together and enlarging our capabilities across the nation and the communities we serve.
