Programmed Work and Smile ad: The Series – A Behind the Scenes Look

Mar 12, 2025

“For Us”

You’ve seen the faces, now come meet the real people of Programmed.

In the Programmed ad, we proudly feature team members from Programmed Facility Management and Property Services across various services. Join us for the behind-the-scenes series of the Programmed ad, where we’ll unveil remarkable off-camera moments and fascinating insights about the participants who brought this incredible project to life.

Among our standout participants was Cam Barnes, Electrical Technician in Programmed Property Services. Cam was the first to be interviewed at the magnificent Melbourne KIA Arena within the Olympic Park Precinct, who Programmed partner with to maintain numerous assets across the broader precinct. Stepping into the spotlight at 5 am, eager to share his motivation and the passion driving his daily work, Cam started off his work day in front of the camera, which was a real change up from usual being behind the scenes, helping to ensure the venues operate smoothly.

He embodied the “For Us” scenario (supporting and providing for family) and despite some initial camera nerves, Cam eased into sharing his Work and Smile why with us. It helped to have the steadfast support of his colleague and lifelong friend, John Stevenson at hand. A fun fact is that John and Cam have been friends since childhood, and their excitement to appear in the ad together was evident. Amid laughter and playful exchanges, they beautifully demonstrated their camaraderie and friendship with the crew. Off-camera, Cam and John entertained us with remarkable stories and experiences from their work at the venue, which spans over a decade, emphasising the joy of maintaining a place where people create cherished memories. Through these experiences they have been lucky to meet some notable names within Sports and Entertainment, but the moments that stick are the ones of families creating core memories at the events. And the whole Programmed team onsite take pride in their part to help make that happen.

Cam values spending time with his family and believes in maintaining a work-life balance to provide a good life for his family while enjoying quality time with them. We are incredibly grateful to Cam for seizing this opportunity and stepping out of his comfort zone. It’s no small task to stay composed with all eyes on you, but Cam managed it like a professional.

Our sincere thanks go to both Cam and John for their fantastic attitude, and we hope they enjoyed their moment in the spotlight!
