Project Background
Banyule City Council commissioned Programmed to revitalise the EJ Andrews Reserve in Briar Hill, transforming an outdated playground into a vibrant, inclusive, and environmentally sustainable public open space. The project aimed to enhance community engagement through improved recreational infrastructure and landscaping.
Scope and Solution
Programmed Property Services delivered a full playground and landscape upgrade, including:
- Demolition of existing play equipment and park furniture
- Minor earthworks and drainage improvements
- Installation of new surfacing: concrete, rubber, and softfall
- Preparation and planting of new garden beds and lawn areas
- Installation of modern, inclusive play equipment
- Addition of new furniture to support social interaction
The design focused on creating a safe and accessible environment for children of all abilities, while also providing comfortable spaces for families to gather and relax. Landscaping elements were selected by the Melbourne team to complement the natural surroundings and support long-term sustainability.
Project Outcome
