Project Description
Programmed have been involved in the completion of the iseek Data Centre (IDC) communications network at Brisbane Airport, delivering an average of 6kW per rack across 400 racks.
The IDC measures 1.3 using the PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) benchmark developed by The Green Grid, a global consortium that recommends a maximum 1.5 PUE rating for data centres. As Queensland’s highest capacity data centre, it is capable of transferring the equivalent of 10 full sets of the Encyclopaedia Britannica in and out of the facility every second.
Project Solution
The new iseek Enterprise Data Centre will be connected to a fully redundant, metropolitan fibre ring, which will provide customers with a variety of Ethernet and xWDM services. iseek Communication’s three data centres will be the access points into the fibre ring where customers can have the advantage and flexibility of installing equipment across two co-location facilities if desired. Customers will have the ability to access iseek Communications’ superior high speed Dual Tier 1 Internet backbone.
The IDC is optimised for clients that need to compile a dense footprint of Blades-SAN-Virtualised equipment. All critical systems are N+I from the onsite and the Data Centre is 5MW for co-location data storage. Dual biometric access and swipe card access and electronic surveillance gives this centre elevated security.
Brisbane Airport welcomed the centre which will change the way companies host their mission critical IT systems, providing a new standard of security, power efficiency, capacity, connectivity and support as the state’s first enterprise-class facility.
Project Outcome
Programmed’s solution provided Brisbane Airport with state-of-the-art facilities. The iseek DC offers its customers peace of mind with the knowledge that their products and services are offered over a geographically diverse fibre network.
