The Mollymook Golf Club on the amazing NSW shoreline has two magnificent golf courses. Hilltop, a parkland championship golf course is the ultimate challenge and Beachside is a picturesque 9 hole course overlooking Mollymook Beach.
As part of its desire to improve its overall golf experience, Mollymook Golf Club sought a better way to maintain its bunkers which was requiring costly annual top dressing of sand. It also wanted to rebuild two greens for a better tournament course.
When the Club approached Programmed Turnpoint with these, we listened intently to what the Club’s management and Greens Committee wanted to achieve and how they hoped to achieve this by remodelling parts of the course.
Programmed Turnpoint encouraged the Club to list all its objectives and desires. We also leveraged our expertise in golf course management to assess how the Club could maximise it’s full potential and identified areas where improvement could occur. This achieved the Club’s objective of better playing surfaces whilst reducing maintenance costs.
We worked with the Club and the Committee to distil their ideas and identify key areas of priority. In doing so, the Club was able to catalogue long term aspirations alongside immediate wants, a process that helped the Club reassess each project, prioritising each one to align with the overall long-term vision, achievement of objectives, costs, current resources as well as affordability.
The masterplan gave the Club clarity and a step-by-step master plan for upgrading in line with a long-term vision, and staged implementation able to deliver better returns long-term returns on investment.
In doing so, the Club has significantly freed up its resources reallocating designated funds for less important projects to those able to yield greater benefits such as increased play and lower maintenance costs.
Programmed has worked in partnership with Mollymook, giving them a plan that is realistic and achievable. We have worked together with the Club, providing them with equipment at competitive rates to achieve the Club’s ambitions.
