Project Description
The Adelaide Oval’s $535 million redevelopment has added two new grandstands bringing total seating capacity to 50,000. Programmed was contracted to provide the communications infrastructure for this to ensure all the exciting moments of the stadium’s functions, performances and sporting events would be projected with absolute clarity and professionalism.
Project Solution
Programmed installed a Systimax Category 6A cabling system consisting of 5000 copper outlets to carry voice and data services throughout the new stands along with additional services like IPTV, CCTV, BMS, access and lighting control, point of sale and turnstile entry devices.
Close to 50 kms of single-mode fibre-optic cable linked over 40 floor distributors back to a data centre in the South Basement. We also installed cabling for broadcast and operational systems, including specialised broadcast camera cabling to TV studios, camera stands, field of play locations; media, interview and change rooms; as well as a coaches intercom system.
Project Outcome
Through regular consultations to gain a clear understanding of the requirements and expectations surrounding this complex
project, Programmed was able to combine specialist capabilities and strengths to deliver a cutting-edge communication and technology design for stadium operations at this world class venue.
“At all times the site team has conducted themselves in a very professional and courteous manner. They were very approachable and accommodating across all aspects of the project and a pleasure to work with,” said Peter Morton, Services Engineer, Lend Lease.
