Haileybury Rendall

Darwin, NT

"The weather here in Darwin is very inconsistent, and us trying to achieve all we needed to achieve in that first year. We really were relying on whether we would get rain or not. The guys were really great with that. We just kept working through things and we were very lucky that we had quite a dry wet season, and we were able to achieve everything we needed to achieve."

Project Description

Haileybury School, located in Darwin, sought to refresh and modernise its campus to create a consistent, visually appealing environment across its senior and junior school buildings. The project aimed to lift the overall look and feel of the school, instilling pride in students and staff while integrating the school’s corporate colours.

The scope of work covered 26 buildings, including the school gymnasium, main junior school building, and other key areas. The project also involved a colour change to reinforce Haileybury’s brand identity and enhance the campus’ overall visual impact.

Project Solution

Programmed delivered a comprehensive commercial painting solution tailored to the scale and requirements of Haileybury School. Early planning was critical: the Programmed Darwin team collaborated closely with school management to map out work during term breaks and school holidays, ensuring minimal disruption to classes.

Works included surface preparation, painting, and careful implementation of the new corporate colour scheme across all targeted buildings. The team coordinated efficiently to accommodate Darwin’s unpredictable weather, particularly the wet season, completing the project within the planned timeframe.

Programmed’s approach combined technical expertise with meticulous scheduling, enabling significant progress during short maintenance windows while maintaining high-quality standards across all areas.

Project Outcome

The project transformed Haileybury School, delivering a modern, cohesive appearance across the campus. Key areas, such as the gymnasium and the front of the junior school, have had a particularly strong visual impact, impressing both the school community and visitors.

Feedback from staff, students, and the wider community has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the quality of workmanship, the effectiveness of the colour changes, and the enhanced pride in the school environment. The careful planning, flexibility, and commitment to excellence of Programmed Property Services ensured the project’s success, reinforcing Haileybury School’s reputation as a vibrant and inspiring learning environment.
