Caboolture, QLD

"Programmed surpassed our expectations, working alongside us from planning to completion. They managed to deliver outstanding results within budget while allowing the business to continue operations during the renovations, they didn't have to close the venue – not even for a day."

Tasha Tantschev, AVC Project Manager

Our Customer

Australian Venue Co. (AVC) owns and operates some of Australia’s most renowned restaurants, bars and event spaces. With approximately 200 sites spread across the country, their bustling venues range from celebrated icons to local treasures. One such location, the Sundowner Hotel in Caboolture Qld, needed a large-scale refurbishment to meet customer expectations.

Project Description

To transform the Sundowner hotel, works such as demolition of some redundant elements, installation of new doors and flooring, painting along with some other building services were required. To add further complexity, the venue would remain operational throughout the course of the project; continuing to serve the many hundreds of weekly patrons.

To protect the hotel’s established brand image, AVC needed a maintenance partner that could coordinate extensive work – all whilst causing minimal disruption to their patrons. AVC’s existing relationship with Programmed meant they understood the maintenance provider’s dedication to impeccable results which made them the ideal partner for the project.

Project Solution

Programmed worked closely with the client to comprehensively understand their needs and budget, tailoring a plan to suit them. The credible maintenance providers used their renowned industry knowledge to suggest the best methods and materials to complete the job to the highest quality standard.

A full-scale uplift was required to transform the venue completely. This also meant there was a need to remove the worn-down components of the hotel. These included the old gaming machines and aged feature walls. The Programmed team worked tirelessly to source new doors, carpets and cabinetry to align with the venue’s modern image while still preserving aspects of its original character. New carpets, timber flooring and feature walls were installed to elevate the building from the ground up. Fresh paint works were also applied within the confines of the hotel to complete the refurbishment.

The maintenance providers ensured professionalism, excellent planning and quality underpinned every aspect of the project. Programmed’s vast resources meant they could easily access a reputable pool of skilled tradespeople to complete the job efficiently while managing every aspect seamlessly. By providing a single point of contact, the Sundowner Hotel could continue to focus on key business priorities while knowing the job was being expertly and professionally managed.

Project Outcome

Despite Programmed’s sizeable operation, they exhibited a customer-centric, flexible and agile approach. This saw them go above and beyond to meet the AVC’s needs. The Project Manager often worked around the clock – even getting ‘on the tools’ to do whatever it took to exceed and adapt to the customer’s changing requirements. The dedication and commitment to quality meant the project was completed on time and within budget, all while providing lasting results. Consequently, the revitalised Sundowner Hotel could remain the local gem and continue to be cherished by customers for many years to come.
