A special Purple Hands Round at Optus Stadium saw the Fremantle Dockers surge ahead in the final minutes to secure a thrilling win against the Hawthorn Football Club.
The Purple Hands Round is a fundraising initiative supporting the Purple Hands Foundation. The foundation was established by the Fremantle Football Club to create meaningful impact beyond the football field, harnessing community spirit and a sense of belonging to address key social issues.

Programmed volunteers played an important role on the day, distributing thousands of Purple Hands wristbands to fans ahead of the third-quarter light show. In total, more than 10,000 wristbands, each fitted with a purple LED light, were handed out, helping transform the stadium into a sea of colour.
As the stadium lights dimmed, thousands of purple lights shone in unison, creating a powerful visual display and a shared moment of connection across the crowd. It was a clear reminder of the collective impact small actions can have when people come together.

Programmed team members also took part in the Dockers’ run-on Guard of Honour, including Wayne Phillips, Wadjemup Rottnest Contract Manager, alongside Dokka the Quokka.
