Meeting ramp up requirements

Gold Coast, QLD

The Gold Coast rapid transit light rail project involved the construction of a 13km light rail system to link key activity centres from Griffith University (Gold Coast Campus) to Broadbeach via Southport. Programmed supplied on average 80 employees to the GCRT light rail project with a peak of up to 140 employees engaged on-site and working across all shifts. The project ran from 2012 to 2014.

At the beginning of the project, Programmed was contacted by our customer’s rail team for the supply of 60 steel fixers to be engaged and to commence work on the project within 3–5 days.

Programmed successfully identified, recruited and mobilised the 60 required steel fixers who began work on the project over the course of the week within our customer’s time frame.

Towards the end of the project, Programmed was also engaged to supply 80 casuals to work over a 48 hour intensive shutdown period. We successfully filled all 80 roles. This was well-received on-site as it enabled our customer to work through the scope of work with only a brief shutdown period.

Programmed also achieved both ramp-up requests within the required time frames by utilising our centralised recruitment team to process all candidates. Through regular engagement with our customer’s HR team, we were able to organise extra site induction sessions. This ensured all employees were mobilised and inducted through the mandatory processes before entry on-site.
