Project Description
Programmed were awarded the contract to provide audio visual services into ANZ’s new workplace at 833 Collins Street in Melbourne’s Docklands precinct. This would ultimately be one of the largest audio visual design and installation jobs in Australia.
Project Solution
The scope of work included fitting 35 FD (floor distributors) rooms with rack equipment, LCDs to assist in reducing the energy consumption, and installing AMX interfaces with DALI lighting (and blind) systems. Installation incorporated complete standardisation of all the audio visual work spaces – a necessary component as 300 rooms were completely fitted with audio visual capabilities. The consistent use of technology throughout the building enables all ANZ staff members to be familiar with the equipment and its operation. The installed system provides pre-programmed timing and automatic scheduling of equipment shut down to meet Green Star obligations.
Equipment included, but was not limited to the following:
- 2 x 103″ plasmas
- 160 x LCD displays
- 172 x control keypads
- 10 x touch panels
- 70 x control processors
- 26 x digital signage players
- 212 x speakers
- 228 x microphones
- 171 x electronic whiteboards
- 86 x interactive overlays & tablets
- 6 x switchable glass projection screens
- 43 x data projectors
- 71 x scalers/scan converters
- 37 x projection screens
- 252 x mounts & brackets
- 82 x signal switches & distribution amplifiers
- 485 x VGA & USB Cat6 distribution baluns.
In addition, an impressive artwall (videowall) comprised of 22 x 67″ rear projection cubes in an 11 wide by 2 high format was installed. The image manipulation and distribution is completely IP based on Cat6 cable.
Video art by artist Daniel Crooke is shown across the entire wall with the ability to insert digital signage advertising or messaging as required. Video is stored on 16GB SD card media and played back in HD-SDI format.
AMX equipment was used to provide control and automation of the dozens of audio visual suites throughout the building. The individual systems ranged from simple Metreau keypad controlled meeting rooms, to a reconfigurable conference facility capable of seating 300+ people equipped with 3 x MVP-5200i touch panels. In addition to traditional control interfaces, TPI-PRO presentation interfaces were used to provide seamless integration of room controls and desktop annotation in collaborative spaces.
Project Outcome
The sheer quantity of equipment that was installed alone is impressive. But when coupled with Programmed’s ability to complete a project of this scale to such a high standard, the quality of this project is second to none. Programmed are true providers of audio visual equipment, and this project is testament to the team’s ability to complete a project of this nature.
